Do I need to fix / fill a small cavity for a tooth that is going to be used to hold a bridge?

Question by Java: Do I need to fix / fill a modest cavity for a tooth that is going to be used to hold a bridge?
There is a little cavity on a tooth right following to an extracted tooth. I am going to have a bridge completed on that empty space which will use this tooth (with tiny cavity) to hold on.
Do I need to have to get the cavity fixed considering that they will most likely manipulate this tooth anyway for the bridge function?
I am going to have the bridge carried out soon (
